At The Bramble Patch we understand the importance of hiring the right person for the job and their suitability is of the utmost importance. 

We are committed to providing the best possible care to our children, and to safeguard and promote welfare of young children. The Bramble Patch is also committed to providing a supportive working environment for all its members of staff. The Bramble Patch recognises that, to achieve these aims, it is of fundamental importance to attract, recruit and retain staffs who share this commitment. The Bramble Patch will follow a strict safeguarding procedure to protect all children and young people in our care and expects all staff and volunteers, students and agency staff to share this commitment.

Recruitment process: 

To begin the recruitment process all applicants will have to complete an application form which will ask for information on previous employment, qualifications and references. 

Once the application form has been completed any successful applicants will be invited to interview via email. 

At the interview applicants will be asked to bring 2 forms of ID in order to complete DBS checks. 

Where an applicant claims to have changed his/her name by deed poll, the correct documentation will be requested.

Where possible, references will be checked before the interviewing stage.

During the interview, detailed enquires will be made regarding any gaps in their employment and reason for leaving employment.

Induction: 

All staff will be required to complete The Bramble Patch induction. 

The induction includes: 

· Training on safe-guarding and policies and procedures 

· Training which must be completed via the Lincolnshire Safeguarding portal. 

· A handbook on staff expectations and structures to the day. 

Enhanced DBS checks: 

All staff must complete an enhanced DBS check in accordance with the recommendations of the DFEs in “safeguarding children; safer recruitment and selection in education settings”
